  • Compounding and moulding: in-house
  • Traceability: batch-level

Overview

DS Rubber manufactures rubber components through an integrated process: raw material weighing, compounding, milling, calendering, preforming, and press moulding, followed by physical, chemical, and functional testing.

All stages are performed in-house. No compounding or testing step is outsourced. Each batch is weighed, mixed, and tested using the equipment listed below, and results are recorded for traceability.

Manufacturing Infrastructure

Six machines cover the compounding and moulding process, from raw material intake to final part formation.

Chemical Weighing Balance

Automatic Chemical Weighing System

Weighs polymers, fillers, curatives, and additives to an accuracy of ±0.1 g, with batch-wise identification for full traceability. This precision keeps compound formulation consistent across every production batch.
Dispersion Kneader

Dispersion Kneader

A high-shear mixer with controlled rotor speed and mixing chamber temperature, used to disperse fillers, carbon black, silica, and additives evenly into the rubber matrix. Even dispersion is what determines tensile strength, hardness, fatigue resistance, and sealing performance.
Mixing Mill at DS Rubber

Two Roll Mill

Uses precision roll gap adjustment and temperature-controlled rolls to homogenize and sheet the compound ahead of moulding. It delivers uniform sheet thickness and consistent material distribution.

Preformer

Produces pre-weighed rubber blanks (slugs) for compression and transfer moulding, with controlled slug weight, volume, and high repeatability. This reduces flash and improves dimensional consistency on finished parts.
Calendering Machine

Calendering Machine

Uses three-roll thickness control and fabric coating capability to produce uniform rubber sheets and fabric-reinforced diaphragms. Precise gauge control directly affects diaphragm performance and durability.
Hydraulic Press

Hydraulic Press

Moulds and cures rubber under high-tonnage compression with controlled temperature, pressure, and cure cycle, supported by multi-cavity tooling. It produces accurate final dimensions, specified physical properties, and finished surface quality.

Testing Infrastructure

Twelve instruments validate cure behavior, mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and dimensional accuracy.

Rheometer at DS Rubber

Oscillating Disc Rheometer

Measures curing behavior under controlled temperature and oscillation, generating a torque-vs-time cure curve. It determines optimum cure time, scorch safety, cure rate, and crosslink density.
Universal Testing Machine

Digital Tensile Testing Machine

A computer-controlled universal tester with a digital load cell and configurable crosshead speed, supporting tension, compression, peel, and flexural testing. It verifies tensile strength, elongation at break, and modulus against specification.
Hot Air Oven

Accelerated Ageing Oven

Uses forced-air circulation and programmable, uniform temperature control to simulate long-term thermal ageing. It measures retention of hardness, tensile strength, elongation, and elasticity to estimate service life.
Universal Testing Machine

Fabric / Metal to Rubber Adhesion Tester

Measures adhesion between rubber and reinforcement materials using peel and pull-off testing with digital force measurement. This confirms bond strength on fabric-reinforced diaphragms and rubber-to-metal components under cyclic loading.

Compression Set Resistance Apparatus

Measures rubber recovery after prolonged compression using precision fixtures, controlled ageing temperature, and standardized deflection. Compression set values are a direct indicator of long-term sealing force retention.
Oil Swell Test

Volume Swell Test Setup

Measures volume change after fluid immersion with precision dimensional and weight measurement accurate to ±0.001 g. It confirms compatibility with oils, fuels, solvents, and chemicals.
Diaphragm Leak Test Fixture

Diaphragm Leak Test Fixture

A custom-designed fixture that applies regulated air or fluid pressure to detect leaks in diaphragms. It confirms sealing integrity and leak-free performance before shipment.
Functional Life Tester

Functional Life Tester

Simulates real operating conditions using programmable cyclic actuation with adjustable pressure, stroke, and frequency, tracked by a continuous cycle counter. It produces cycle-to-failure data for diaphragms and dynamic rubber components.
Specific Gravity Tester

Specific Gravity Balance

Uses the hydrostatic weighing principle and a high-resolution digital balance to measure the density of rubber compounds and molded parts. This verifies formulation and filler loading consistency across batches.

Low Temperature Cabinet

Maintains a controlled sub-zero environment with uniform cooling to evaluate rubber performance in cold conditions. It confirms flexibility, elasticity, and brittleness risk for cold-service applications.
Hot Air Oven

Hot Air Oven

Provides precision temperature control and uniform heat distribution across a wide operating range for material conditioning, post-curing, drying, and accelerated ageing. This ensures repeatable specimen preparation and evaluation.
Video Measuring Tool

Video Measuring System (VMS)

Uses non-contact optical measurement with a high-resolution camera, digital image processing, and 67x zoom to achieve micron-level dimensional accuracy. It verifies critical dimensions, profiles, flash, and molded features against tolerance.
